1. What cookies and local storage are
Cookies are small text files a website asks your browser to keep. Local storage is a similar mechanism that lets a site remember values between visits without sending them back to the server on every request. Both live on your device and can be inspected or deleted through your browser settings at any time.
2. What HighStakke uses
HighStakke itself sets no tracking cookies. The site relies on two local storage entries, both strictly functional:
- hs_age records that you confirmed you are 18 or over, so the age check does not reappear on every page.
- hs_cookies records whether you accepted or declined the cookie banner so we do not show it again.
Neither value is transmitted to us and neither identifies you. If you decline the banner, the site still works exactly the same; the only difference is that we remember your "decline" so the banner stays hidden.
3. Third-party game frames
When you choose to open a slot, the game loads in an embedded frame from the studio's own servers. That studio may set cookies of its own, for example to remember your sound setting or to keep the demo session alive. These cookies are controlled by the studio under its own cookie policy and we have no access to them. No game frame is created until you press "Play Free" or scroll to the demo panel on the home page, so nothing from a studio is stored just by opening our pages.
4. Analytics and advertising
We do not use analytics platforms, advertising networks, social media pixels or any other third-party tracking on highstakke.com. We may review anonymous aggregate server logs to understand which pages are popular, but these contain no cookies and are not tied to individuals.
5. How to control storage
You can clear local storage and cookies for this site in your browser: in most browsers open the site information panel next to the address bar and choose to clear site data, or use the privacy section of the browser settings. Clearing data will show the cookie banner again on your next visit. You can also block storage entirely; the games will still play exactly the same.
6. Cookies set by responsible play links
The footer links to GamCare, BeGambleAware, Gambling Therapy and Gamblers Anonymous open those organisations' own websites in a new tab. Nothing is loaded from them while you are on highstakke.com, so following a link does not place any cookie on our site. Once you arrive at their pages, their cookie notices apply.
7. Fonts and images
All fonts, icons, illustrations and the background video are hosted on highstakke.com itself. We do not load fonts or images from Google Fonts, content delivery networks or social media platforms, so no third party receives a request from your browser just because you opened a page.
8. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Because we run no tracking, there is nothing for a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal to switch off. We treat every visitor as if the signal were on.
9. Your choices, in short
- Accept the banner and we remember that you have seen it.
- Decline the banner and the site works exactly the same; we only remember to hide the banner.
- Clear site data at any time to forget the age confirmation and the banner choice.
- Block storage entirely and the games still play; the banner simply appears on each visit.
10. Changes to this policy
